THE BARRON KNIGHTS
This band (now down to a quartet) performed tunes with new jokey lyrics like new lyrics to Windmills of your mind which was all about getting old, Killer Queen with new lyrics about Carmilla, as well as doing a medley of their Call up the groups and A Taste of Aggro hits. Another tune they put new lyrics to was a David Bowie medley of Life on Mars and Space Oddity. They also performed a serious version of To Know Her Is To Love Her, this was Beatle link number one.MARMALADE
This was the act that I was most looking forward to and apart from a little problem with the Lead Singers microphone falling down at the start they did not disapoint. Songs performed in this part of the show included Cousin Norman, Radancer, Talking In Your Sleep, Lovin' Things, Rainbow, and my two favourites Reflections Of My Life and OB-LA-DI, OB-LA-DA, another link to the Beatles. The only dissapointment was that they did not perform I See The Rain. I also did not like the antics of Alan.
THE FORTUNES
This band ended the first half of the show and also became my second favourite of the night due to the inclusion of BOB JACKSON from BADFINGER who sang (the third Beatle link) Come And Get It and Without You. Other tracks performed included Here It Comes Again, Rainy Day Feeling, You've Got Your Troubles and Storm In A Teacup which I thought was odd as Badfinger also did a song of the same name which I reminded Bob of when I spoke to him during the interval. The line-up for this band was:-
THE TREMELOES
This band started the second half and performed tracks like Here Comes My Baby, Do You Love Me, Suddenly You Love Me, Silence Is Golden, Even The Bad Times Are Good, and a fourth link to the Beatles Twist And Shout. The line-up for this band was:-
We were then treated to various line-ups like the four lead guitarists and the four drummers doing a track each before everyone came back on stage to perform more tracks.
After the show I spoke to JOE and DAVE and told them that I thought the running order was wrong in that The Tremeloes should be on first due to the fact they had a hit called Call Me Number 1, and the Fortunes should have been on Fourth.
